Effects of urban mobility on the economy

While we are surely familiar with the rising numbers of cars and buses on the road, we need to remember and think that there always is an upper limit. The rapid motorization in the present days has caused heavy damage to the environment and mankind as well; like heavy congestion on roads, high pollution rate, to mention a few. While the environment is facing heavy blows due to the disorganized nature of urban mobility, it is taking a huge toll on our economy as well which needs to be addressed and solved at the earliest.

The rapid motorization might definitely benefit the automobile industry that thrives on inventing new models of cars every other day at rising prices, but the more cars released into the roads cause even further damage to the economy. It is well recognized that poor transportation has the potential to adversely affect the economic efficiencies of the city as well as health and well- being of the urban population.
